Pastor Aaron E. Lavender was born and raised in Cleveland, OH.  He was led to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ by his mother, Bernice Lavender.  While attending his home church, the Community Baptist Church of East Cleveland, OH, he met and eventually married his wife Ledora in 1973.  To that union the Lord blessed them with three children:  Dwight (wife, Kristene), Brian, and Jessica (daughter, Joi).  Dr. Lavender considers his wife, Ledora, to be a shining example of what a pastor’s wife should be.  Her meek and gentle spirit has become a testimony and model for other women to follow.

In 1975 Pastor Lavender was called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

He was nurtured and mentored by his pastor, the late Dr. Richard C. Mattox.  Several years later he and his family relocated to Atlanta, GA., where Pastor Lavender attended and then graduated from the Carver Bible Institute and College in 1980, with a Bachelor of Biblical Education degree.  Upon graduation, the Lavender family relocated to Indiana where Pastor Lavender began pursuing his Master’s degree at Grace Theological Seminary, Winona Lake, IN.  After one semester of study, he sensed the leading of the Lord to move to Charleston, WV, to pastor a newly planted church, the Grace Bible Church.  He served as pastor from 1981-1986.  During that time he also continued his education by extension through Covington Theological Seminary, obtaining both his Master of Ministry and Doctor of Ministry degrees.

Since September 1986, Pastor Lavender has served as the senior pastor of Grace Baptist Church, and Vice President of Carver Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary, in Kansas City, Missouri. He also serves as Vice President of Church Development for the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship Association (www.fbfa.us).

In continued pursuit of ministry excellence, Pastor Lavender, in 2005, received a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry and Doctor of Practical Theology, both with an emphasis in Expository Preaching.  That same year he was also recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Biblical Preaching, from the Stephen Olford Center for Biblical Preaching (Memphis, TN).

Pastor Lavender is in great demand as a Bible teacher, conference speaker, workshop facilitator, and developer of church leaders, especially pastors.  He is the author of the book, Are You A Full Gospel Christian, published by Xulon Press.
